How to Play

I’d hold the line with my other toughest friend and help keep my friends alive.

Keep well back and throw whatever I can at them with impressive accuracy.

I’d step forwards with my shield to protect my friends and swing at the swarm of stirges.

Flank them as they mob my friends and help pick them off more quickly.

Launch spells at them until they’ve had enough.

An ancient parchment sending you on a holy quest against evil.

An acceptance letter letting you compete in The Sword Coast Sport Championships.

A silver-trimmed envelope that invites you to a black-tie charity event.

A letter of inheritance from a rich relative you’ve never met.

A letter from a friend telling you of a secret place lost to time.

My kind and sagely demeanor.

The fact that I can’t keep my hands idle.

My firm handshake.

My disarming smile.

The wealth of history and facts I know by heart that am already talking about.

While on the job. Especially if that job has high stakes.

In workshops. I’m a crafty person by nature.

At home. My parents taught me all about etiquette and how to carry myself properly.

In the streets. I’ve got street-smarts.

In my local library. You’d be surprised by what other people already know.

By glowering at them and making them swear to secrecy.

I turn the charm up to one-hundred and hope honesty works.

By spinning some clever lie about an eagle and a laser pointer.

By showing them how much I know. Surely, they wouldn’t turn away an expert.

Wait until it’s over and make them each feel better afterwards.

Step in and provide ammunition to each side.

Convince them to drop it by reminding them that we’re all friends, and it’s not as big a deal as they believe it to be.

Stay out of it. It’s probably because of something that I’ve done.

Scour my encyclopedia to see who’s right.

Think of all the things I’m grateful for.

Bathe in steaming hot water to help ease me into a deep sleep.

Stare unblinkingly at the ceiling, thinking about all the injustice in the world.

Sneak back to the kitchen for a midnight snack.

Get lost in a novel.

Hit it repeatedly and pray that it works.

Say that you’ll work hard to pay for another one.

Try your best to jigsaw it back together out of blind optimism.

Hide it somewhere they’d never look and hope they don’t miss it.

Find the technical manual and spend all night repairing it.

Act tough, be tough. But under that exterior, I have wisdom beyond my years and I help the injured and those in need.

It’s important not to overthink things. Anything in my hands is a capable tool, be it a sanding plane or a bow and arrow.

Importance, properness and a silver tongue have gotten me most everything I need, but if that’s not enough, I would put myself in harm's way to protect the people most important to me.

Rules just get in my way. The less attention I draw the better, and I’ll exploit that for my own gain.

Knowledge is power. Life is infinitely complex, and I embrace complexity.
